Abstract
We describe aspects of Egyptian arithmetics, algebra and geometry, based on the Rhind and Moscow mathematical papiri,relating its most distinctive features, namely its concrete nature and marked specificity, with the cultural framework and facts drawn from the social and political history of Egypt.
