  • From the course home page:

Due to in person classes being cancelled, Test #2 on Monday March 16th is also cancelled. Assignments will continue to be due as usual through our online system, childsmath.ca. Lecture notes will continue to be posted. But they may be on the main course home page rather than here. This is still being figured out. We are currently looking at how to deliver the remainder of the semester through online video presentation. In addition, we are currently examining our options regarding the evaluation of the remainder of the course. Once we come to a decision on how to proceed, we will post that information on the main course home page. In the meantime, have a good weekend, keep well, and keep working on that material. We'll be back up and running at full speed in no time.

Please check https://ms.mcmaster.ca/~mcleac3/math1ZB3/mainCalc2.html for futher updates.

  • Lecture 28 Part 1, March 17.

You can also view this file with audio using the following link:

From now on you will be able to see the videos of my lectures on the ECHO360 site. I will also still post the .pdf files here.

  • Lecture 28 Part 2, March 17.
  • Lecture 29 Part 1, March 19.
  • Lecture 29 Part 2, March 19.
  • Lecture 30, Part 1, March 20. Please note that part 1 of Lecture 30 is short and part 2 is longer since the audio quality at the end of part 1 was poor so I cut it and redid it at the beginning of part 2.

Please also note that the last 2 pages of this pdf file do not appear in the video. For some reason they did not get recorded. I will repeat these last two pages is Lecture 31, part.

Using a headset microphone did not seem ot improve the quality of the audio. I do not know if the quality deteriorates in the upload or during the recording. I will try to investgate this. However, I seem to have no control over the upload, except that I can record on or off line. Both ways seem to give the same issues. If you have any ideas about this, please let me know.

  • Lecture 30, Part 2, March 20.

On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, on WebEx at 11:30-12:30, you are welcome to ask questions about Lectures 28, 29, and 30,

I am now using new software that I think has better quality audio in the corresponding videos uploaded to ECHO360.

  • Lecture 31, Part 1, March 24.
  • Lecture 31, Part 2, March 24.
  • Lecture 32, Part 1, March 26. focus at 11:30, March 31, but you can ask about any lecture.
  • Lecture 32, Part 2, March 26. focus at 11:30, March 31, but you can ask about any lecture.

Solution to problem #19 on Sample Test 2

Solution to problem 2 on the second Sample test 2 in the first pdf link and another simpler solutions

I am posting the following lectures early in case anyone would like to get ahead. You are welcome to ask questions on any of the lectures during the class time at 11:30-12:20, but we will start questions on the lecture indicated as the focus.

In an effort to be as fair to you as possible, I am assuming that 2 lectures have been cancelled, one because the university was closed on Monday, March 16 and one due to your class test on Friday, March 27. Thus, there will only be 35 lectures. I am assigning the focus as if you had a chance to view each lecture as if it were on time, but then only had a chance to ask questions about it in the following regularly scheduled lecture.

  • Lecture 33, Part 1, March 31. focus at 11:30, April 2, but you can ask questions about any lecture.
  • Lecture 33, Part 2, March 31. focus at 11:30 April 2, but you can ask questions about any lecture.
  • Lecture 34, Part 1, April 2. focus at 11:30, April 3, but you can ask questions about any lecture.
  • Lecture 34, Part 2, April 2. focus at 11:30, April 3, but you can ask questions about any lecture.
  • Lecture 35, April 3, Part 1. focus at 11:30, April 7, but you can ask questions about any lecture.
  • Lecture 35, April 3, Part 2. focus at 11:30, April 7, but you can ask questions about any lecture.

Good Luck on your Final Exams and try to stay healthy
