Announcements
(Posted 6/25) I have posted notes on vector spaces on the sakai site. You can find them under the Resources tab. Right now they only cover vector spaces and subspaces, but I plan to have more notes up shortly.
(Posted 6/25) A few people asked about the details of the upcoming quiz on 6/30. Here they are: You will be asked to identify whether or not a given subset of a vector space is a subspace. You should be able to support your answer using theorems from class or from the notes on vector spaces.
Homework
Homework will be due every day at the beginning of class, unless otherwise specified. See the Sakai site for complete solutions.
Homework 13 Due 7/14. (This is the last homework assignment.)
Other Information
Midterm Exam
The Midterm will be held on Thursday, June 16 in Hill 124 at the beginning of class. It will cover everything we covered from Chapter 4 (Laplace Transforms). You may have one page (front and back) of hand-written notes.
Final Exam
The Final will be held on Thursday, July 21 in Hill 124 from 6-8:50 pm. It will be cumulative, covering all of the material we have seen in this course. Here is a more detailed breakdown of how the material on the exam will be distributed:
Laplace Transforms ~25%
Linear Algebra ~25%
Fourier Series ~25%
PDEs ~25%
The difficulty level of the problems will be approximately that of the homework: If you can do the homework, you should do fine on the exam. You may have one page (front and back) of hand-written notes.
Also, I will be holding office hours on Thursday 7/21 from 2-5 pm. We will begin in my office, but if it becomes too crowded we will move to a nearby classroom. I will post a note on the door if this is the case.
