ONLINE FINAL EXAM FULL INFORMATION

The Full Examination Information can be downloaded and read in pdf form HERE.

Date: Monday, April 20th, 3:00pm to 11:00pm (15:00-23:00 EDT).
Access to the test through childsmath.ca will be available starting at 3:00pm (15:00 EDT) and ending at 11:00pm (23:00 EDT). Students registered with SAS will have that time automatically adjusted according to their accommodations (There is no need to email your instructor about it), but all students will start at 3:00pm(15:00 EDT).

Location: The test will be available on childsmath.ca.
As previously, the link to the test will be below the link to your other assignments. It should be visible before the date of the test, but greyed out.

Topics: As listed originally, this test covers all topics included in the course, from the beginning of the course up to the end of the section on gradients. That is, all chapters in the lecture schedule up to and including the material covered from 14.6.
*Please note* Due to the circumstances, no Chapter 15 material will be included on the test. So no Riemann sums or multivariable integration will be on the examination.

Weighting: (Note: Subject to small changes)
Approximately 44% comes from the Sections from topics after test #2.
The remainder will come approximately equally from the material covered in test #1 and test #2

Details: The test is a modified version of the original designed exam with ~29 questions, which was designed and intended for a duration of 2.5 hours.
It is similar to the original test and similar to your other childsmath.ca assignments, and test #2. Some questions will be multiple choice, but others will require a symbolic or numerical answer. Some may be formatted as True/False type questions.
All answers will be entered into the childsmath.ca system. Answers can be saved, and modified as many times as you wish for the duration of the test, but will not be graded during the testing period. All final submitted answers will be graded once when the test period is over.
Again, unlike the assignments, there is only one attempt, but that attempt won't be marked until after the test time is over.

Total Marks: TBA. Each question will say beside the questions how many marks it is worth. Most will probably be worth 2 marks but some might be worth 3 or more.

Other Details   -This will be an 'open book' test. You may use your textbook or your notes.
  - Group work is NOT allowed
  - Calculators are NOT allowed
  - Web resources of any kind are NOT allowed
  - You are not allowed to discuss the contents of the test with anyone (in any form) for the entire duration of the test.
  - Students found communicating information (in any way) about the test at any time during the 8 hour period will be charged with academic dishonesty, regardless of whether or not they completed the test prior to communicating the information, and regardless of whether or not they think that the communication was anonymous.

We expect all McMaster Students to uphold our university's standards of academic integrity during these difficult times.

Official Update - How We Proceed

Hopefully everyone is keeping well out there.
We've been quiet for a bit but now we can officially continue our 1ZB3/1AA3 course.

Our official communication can be found HERE. and a "FAQ" about the univeristy and our COVID-19 situation is available HERE.

But let's break it all down in detail.

1) Lectures will continue. We will be posting all our lectures on Echo360
All of you should be able to access ALL sections of Math 1AA3/1ZB3 when you log in, as you all have been assigned access to all sections. Some instructors have already posted their lectures from earlier this week.
Feel free to leave comments and questions on the videos themselves.

2) Lecture notes will continue to be posted in their usual locations for sections where the lectures were regularly posted.

3) Starting THURSDAY MARCH 19, all instructors will begin holding office hours using WebEx. The link for accessing WebEx can be found Here The times of these sessions will be posted on this website, and a link to the meeting "rooms" will be posted in the top announcements on childsmath.ca

4) Sections C01, C02 and C03 of 1ZB3 (G. Wolkowicz, S. Streipert, and C. McLean) will be holding WebEx sessions during their regular lecture times to answer any additional quesions related to their posted videos. Each session will answer any questions related to the video posted for the previous corresponding lecture date. So for instance, this Thursday March 19 sessions will discuss the lectures posted online currently (as of Wednesday).
Times and links will be posted on childsmath.ca

5) The TAs will also be holding WebEx "office hours", starting Thursday. The time and links will be posted with the others on childsmath.ca

6) Assignments will continue as usual with the usual due dates.

7) Test #2 will be replaced by an online test tentatively scheduled for Friday March 27. It will contain the same material as was previously scheduled for the original cancelled test #2.
The exact details of how we will perform this are still pending, but we will inform you as soon as possible.

8) Similarly the final exam will be a 40% online test, scheduled for the original test date, MONDAY APRIL 20th. It will be a cumulative exam, covering all material in the course, and will also be done online.
Again, the exact details will be anounced as we get closer to the exam date.

If anything changes, or any issues arise, we will make the relevant announcements here, and on childsmath.ca
Remember, this is an unusual situation for all of us, so please bear with us as we adapt to these interesting times.

COVID 19, Calculus and Tests

First, the "Good News":
Due to in person classes being cancelled, Test #2 on Monday March 16th is also cancelled. Assignments will continue to be due as usual through our online system, childsmath.ca.

Lecture notes will continue to be posted to this webpage for the lectures as the term progresses, and we are currently looking at how to deliver the remainder of the semester through online video presentation.

In addition, we are currently examining our options regarding the evaluation of the remainder of the course.
Once we come to a decision on how to proceed, we will post that information here.

In the meantime, have a good weekend, keep well, and keep working on that material.
We'll be back up and running at full speed in no time.
