As part of the Canadian Mathematical Society Winter Meeting in Hamilton, we will be organizing a special session entitled Commutative Algebra: Interactions with Algebraic Combinatorics, Algebraic Geometry, and Representation Theory. This web page will help supplement the information from the main CMS web page.

Location
The conference will take place in at the Sheraton Hamilton Hotel in downtown Hamilton.

Registration and Abstract Submission
To register for the event, and to submit your abstract, you must use the CMS website. Here are the links Note that reduced rates are available until September 30. When you register, pick the lowest applicable fee.
Dinner Information
We are organizing a dinner for the speakers and the participants of our special session for the evening of Saturday, December 6, 2014. We will have dinner at My Thai, a Thai restaurant near the hotel.Walking directions from the hotel to the restaurant.

Hotel Information
The CMS Accommodations Webpage only contains the conference hotel (and information on receiving the reduced rate). There are a number of other hotels near the Sheraton that are within walking distance (<5 minutes).
As an additional note, both the Staybridge Suites and the Homewood Suites are both brand new hotels (<2 years).
There is also a hostel nearby: Hamilton
Guest House.
Travel Information
Here is a link to the CMS Travel Webpage with information on how to get to downtown Hamilton.
Since the majority of speakers will be arriving at Pearson Airport in Toronto, you will want to either take a cab or book a shuttle through Airways Transit. Note that a one-way trip will cost you about $90 (CDN).
If you are feeling adventurous, or want to save some money, you can try using public transit. Here's Google's directions for getting to the conference hotel using public transit.
