Sabbatical Activities (20014-15) |
I was on sabbatical from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015. You can see what I did below.
Queen's Algebraic Geometry Seminar (Kingston, ON)
- I gave a talk at Queen's University in the Algebraic Geomtry Seminar. My talk was held on October 6, 2014.
AMS Special Session (Halifax, NS)
- I attended the
Special Session on Commutative Algebra and Its Interactions with Algebraic Geometry. I gave a talk on circulant edge ideals. The conference was
from Oct. 18-19, 2014.
Here's a picture of me at Dalhousie:
While at Dalhousie, Tai Ha and I re-created a picutre of us from 15 years ago.
- On November 7, I gave a talk in Kevin Vander Meulen's undergraduate graph theory course.
- With Tony Geramita, I organized a special session on commutative algebra at the Canadian Mathematical Socieity Winter Meeting. You can see more about this session on my web page. This conference will be held from Dec. 5-8, 2014.
- I attend the 12th iteration of the conference Combinatorial algebra meets algebraic combinatorics. This year's meeting was held at Queen's University.
-
I attended the
Mini-Workshop: Ideals of Linear Subspaces, Their Symbolic Powers and Waring Problems
in February 2015 at MFO in Germany. Here's a group shot of all the
participants.
-
I attended a PhD defense as an external committee member at the
math department
at the University of Genoa. I was in Genoa during the
last week of February. Here I am in front of the math building.
