Crack pattern in ceramics subject to thermal shock

Help needed!

I am expecting several MS, PhD, and postdoctoral openings on numerical approaches for variational phase-field models of fracture, and related applications.

At the MS level, ideal candidates will have some background in analysis, numerical analysis, and programming skills in modern fortran, C, or python, and a good knowledge of development tools (command line, ssh, version control systems, …)

At the PhD level, basic command of functional analysis and Partial Differential Equations is expected. Some knowledge of the mathematical theory of elasticity will also be a strong asset.

Candidates for a postdoctoral appointment will need a PhD in applied mathematics, theoretical mechanics or a related area, a strong command of high-performance computing, and familiarity with solid mechanics.
