New article on fracture in heterogeneous materials

A new paper, “Stress fluctuation, crack renucleation and toughening in layered materials”, has just been accepted in the Journal of Mechanics and Physics of Solids. This is a joint work with C.-J. Hsueh, L. Avellar, B. Bourdin, G. Ravichandran, and K. Bhattacharya at Caltech.
