New paper: "Revisiting nucleation in the phase-field approach to brittle fracture."

A joint paper with A. Kumar, G. A. Francfort, and O. Lopez-Pamies has been accepted in the Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids. In this paper, we discuss nucleation in phase-field models of fracture, and propose an alternative approach using a driving force to account for a stress surface while keeping the properties of phase-field models.
