Less than one year after its publication, the article on crack nucleation (Tanné, Li, Bourdin, Marigo, & Maurini, 2018) published in the Journal of Mechanics and Physics of Solids was labeled ESI highly cited paper in engineering by Web of Science. Quoting from web of science: “As of November/December 2018, this highly cited paper received enough citations to place it in the top 1% of the academic field of Engineering based on a highly cited threshold for the field and publication year.”
